Who We Are: What We Believe

Lutherans and the Bible

We believe the Bible is the source of our understanding about God and God’s promises of love. We recognize the Bible is not history or science, but the account of people who witnessed God’s love at work in the world. While the Bible should be studied in different ways and may even be interpreted in different ways, we believe it should always be viewed through the lens of the love of God given freely through Jesus Christ.

We believe God is still present and
active in the world today,
even in our daily lives.

God’s love has the power to transform lives,
communities, and the world.

God is working here at Shepherd of the Valley
and we invite you to come see for yourself!
