Marie and her husband, Richard joined SOV in 2001, although Marie had been teaching at our school since 1977.  She retired in 2005, the same year that Richard passed away.  She has served on council before as president and has been on other committees and leads some Bible studies, and sings in the choir.

Marie started her career teaching in a one room rural school in North Dakota.  She also taught for 3 years in North Dakota and Minnesota while completing her degree in education, before coming to California to a Lutheran school in Glendora.  She taught in Azusa and Ontario public schools before getting married and coming to the San Fernando Valley where she finished her teaching career.  She has done some tutoring and now enjoys traveling, reading, exercise classes, and playing games with friends.

Bruce and his wife, Bonnie have attended Shepherd of the Valley since the late 1960's, with his parents. He is currently an insurance agent specializing in Auto & Homeowners Insurance. He collect hats & Bobble Heads. I like riding Motorcycles and Wine tasting, hopefully not at the same time.  We have been involved with the Via De Cristo movement for the last 12 years and am always on the lookout for other Christian's who would like to attend a 4-day weekend to get to see the Holy Spirit at work in people’s lives.  God, I love this place, and the people we have met at SOV.  To me they are like salt of the Earth people and can think of no other place I would rather be and worship.

Lisa and her husband Bob began attending SOV back in the last century when their son Michael was attending Confirmation Classes here and she and Robby were going to SOV's Mommy and Me group. She has held several positions on council (including President) and says, "it is always a privilege to serve the congregation in this way."

They live in the Santa Rosa Valley area of Camarillo with their two dachshunds (Oscar Mayer and Penny Lane) and 6 chickens (next time you see her ask her the names of the chickens).  She loves listening to old time radio (her favorite shows are The Jack Benny Program, My Favorite Husband, and Suspense).

One of her favorite verses in the Bible is 1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."
